About the Role:
DaisyChain Energy provides energy transition and decarbonization services to owners of multi-unit commercial and residential buildings, allowing clients to futureproof their buildings with next-generation energy infrastructure. DaisyChain finances up to 100% of the cost of modernizing properties with EV Charging, Solar Panels, and Heat Pump upgrades. Our project managers supervise the work from start to finish. Founded in NYC in 2024 by a veteran team with deep subject matter expertise in DERMS and grid-edge solutions, this opportunity offers the chance to join as a founding member of the team. You will play a pivotal role in the company's growth and collaborate with the CEO, Chief Product Officer, and Head of Business Development on business strategy, servicing and expanding a large existing pipeline and on developing new markets and products.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations with a strong track record managing projects. This role is ideal for someone with a minimum 5 years of professional experience building and leading Operations teams, with at least 2 years in the EPC, Solar, or Distributed Energy Resources (DER) industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Workflow Optimization: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, timelines, and workflows, ensuring all KPIs are met. Partner with the Project Management Team to ensure projects remain on track in terms of both timelines and budget, monitor project performance, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Quality Management: Establish and optimize project management processes and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Engineering Team Collaboration: Work closely with both internal and external engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution, offering support and guidance throughout the process.
Financial Oversight: Lead the generation of financial reports, including budgeting, cost tracking, and revenue analysis. Provide insights into financial performance to support management’s decision-making, driving profitability and business growth.
Operational Efficiency & Scalability: Oversee day-to-day operations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and scalability. Continuously evaluate processes to ensure smooth operations across departments.
Staffing & Scheduling: Manage workforce allocation, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and optimal scheduling to meet business needs.
IT & Cybersecurity Oversight: Supervise IT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the company’s systems remain secure, efficient, and up to date.
HR & Administrative Support: Provide leadership and support for HR functions, focusing on creating an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace culture. Lead recruitment efforts with a focus on DEI, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates. Foster an environment of belonging and support through DEI initiatives, training, and policies. Oversee administrative functions, including office space management, insurance policies, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Fostering Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging team members to find and implement ways to enhance operational performance and organizational growth.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in the EPC, Solar, or Distributed Energy Resources (DER) industry.
Proficiency with business software and tools
Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira, Atlassi, experience with Notion is a plus.
Strong understanding of financial metrics
Team leadership: Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, inspiring, motivating, and aligning them toward company goals. Capable of handling both high-level strategic planning and day-to-day decisions.
Decision-making: Strong decision-making skills, balancing long-term objectives with immediate operational needs.
Problem-solving: Ability to identify issues quickly, devise solutions, and implement corrective actions effectively.
Data-driven and analytical mindset, detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
